"Its these changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes -- nothing remains quite the same. With all of our running and all of our cunning, if we couldnt laugh we would all go insane" - Jimmy Buffett

Still is still moving to me....
Hi, me again. Miss me? Thought not. Oh well.
The time available to wrote blogs has been notably diminished in the last 16 and a half months. Honestly, the time to do MOST things I used to enjoy doing has been notably diminished. Ironically, the things I enjoy doing have changed as well. I just finished reading, "The Monster at the End of This Book" for what was probably the 500th time in the past 8 months and I loved it. I'm not saying I wouldn't mind an occasional cup of tea and a book without pictures, but it really isn't so bad. Turns out this baby we have is pretty damn entertaining and I like him just a little more than I ever knew I could like ANYTHING (except maybe cheese...I do love cheese).
I frequently think of things I'd like to write, but since I don't have a job to go to that I need a mental break from during the day the time never seems to present itself. Between staying at home "full time", working "full time", working "part time" (x2) and volunteering my ass off it could be said I'm a tad busy. Yet this is the schedule I chose...so shut up, yes?
Since Austin became self-aware and mobile, more sickness has plagued our home than in the past 10 years of married life. It is truly staggering. Until recently I did not know one being could shit so much and still sustain life. He just goes on like there isn't something oozing out the leg of his pants and keeps playing -- leaving a trail of organic matter in his wake. Oh that I were that stout of mind and body. I'll spare the details of my recent exploits in to the world of E. Coli and refrain from calling out any specific eating establishments we may have visited last Sunday for thier questionable meat-handling practices. Guess Clay is on to something with this whole Vegetarian thing.
Clay is out of town today. Again. He was gone from Tuesday until Friday last week and took off before sunrise this morning. I know he hates it as much as I do...well maybe ALMOST as much. I have to say when he is gone it makes me stop and give mental props to all the single parents out there. I have no idea how people manage parenting alone and I think we should all do as much as we can to help these amazing souls in their quest to maintain sanity. I could go on an entire rant here about social injustice, poverty and politics, but if you'll notice, my attention to each topic only contains the amount of text found in a typical board book. It's all I'm capable of today.
Dude and I have big plans to go shopping this afternoon. I understand now why I used to see SAHMs shopping at all hours of the day. It is a life-saving tactic that we all employ: the ole "get-the-baby-out-of-the-house-and-strapped-into-a-shopping-cart-or-I'm-going-to-lock-myself-in-the-bathroom-until-Daddy-gets-home" trick. Works every time. Tends to be expensive, but that is a small price to pay to have all family members still drawing breath at the end of a day.
I think that pretty much covers what I can cognate & articulate on this beautiful Sunday morning. I'll try and write more soon. Chris is putting me to shame lately with his witty parenting rhetoric and there IS still a small flicker of competitiveness left in me that has not gone out with the diaper trash.
